용인시는 10일 수지구 신봉동 지구촌교회가 감염병에 취약한 이웃을 위해 써달라며 성금 2000만원을 기탁했다고 밝혔다.

최성은 지구촌교회 담임목사는 "코로나19 사태가 계속되면서 방역물품을 사는 것조차 어려운 주민들에게 작은 도움이나마 주기 위해 성금을 마련했다"고 말했다.

백군기 용인시장은 "지구촌교회가 이웃을 위해 솔선수범하며 나눔을 실천해줘 감사하며, 소중한 성금은 코로나19로 어려움을 겪고 있는 취약계층에 전달할 것"이라고 말했다.

시는 이 성금을 경기사회공동모금회를 통해 관내 사회복지시설이나 저소득 주민의 생계비를 지원하는데 사용할 방침이다.
